THE ORIGIN STORY
My mother has always been a homemaker, feeding and taking care of the whole family. It was 2020 lockdown where the world came to a standstill, lives became the right kind of slow and people got time to be with themselves pursuing long lost/new hobbies and interests. So did my mom with her baking skills. She became so good that it was a mental war for me to resist the delicacies she would bake, I'm a gymbro afterall.
Word spread from my own building to the entire locality about my mom's baking skills and she started getting a lot of orders. I figured we could give it a name and after having tons of fun with it and applying the theories of quantum mechanics of the universe, we landed on 'Kaaku's Cakehouse'

VISUAL IDENTITY
Color Palette
We wanted the color palette rooted in Indian and Maharashtrian culture with a dab of Pastel and colors from the bakery world.
Typeface
'Cheri' typeface was modified to add more character and fluidity to represent the brand better
story time
It was 2023 Bhaidooj morning. Mom bought a couple of packages for the sweets she planned to make for our relatives that were to come in the evening. I woke up late that day, still wiping off my yawn tears as I yawned.
The packages, sweets and The already brewing Idea of 'Kaaku's cakehouse' struck me with a challenge I couldn't refuse.
"Brand the damn packages to 'Kaaku's cakehouse' " as mom presents the sweets in the evening to get everyone talking. Truly awakened me from my slumber.
I had a few hours to gauge the boxes > Get down the dimensions > design a packaging > Get it printed > Slap it on the boring looking packages and Ship it to the living room. Here's a video documenting the frenzy.
